Dear Icecast Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am currently running *Icecast 2.4.4*, and I have encountered an issue
related to the stream directory configuration. The official documentation
mentions that the Icecast server should be able to register with the Xiph
Directory using the URL http://dir.xiph.org/index.php for YP (Yellow Pages)
integration. However, I have found that this URL now results in a *404
error*.
Issue Summary:

   -

The documentation suggests using http://dir.xiph.org/index.php for the
   directory.
   -

This URL returns a *404 Not Found* error when attempting to access it.
   -

The YP update log shows successful interactions with the directory,
indicating that the server is trying to contact the directory, but
the *incorrect
   URL is used*.

Temporary Solution:

To resolve this issue, I modified the Icecast server configuration with a
workaround. I updated the link in the stream directory information on the
admin page to use the following URL instead:
http://dir.xiph.org/search?q=DJ+OsiriS+Music+Service.
This workaround correctly points to the stream directory search page and
works as intended.
My Questions:

   1.

Could you please clarify why the *index.php* URL is returning a 404
   error?
   2.

Is there an official update or new URL for the Xiph Directory that
should be used in the Icecast configuration?
   3.

Is this change documented somewhere, or will the official documentation
be updated to reflect the new URL?

I would appreciate any insights or official guidance you could provide
regarding this issue.

Thank you in advance for your time and support.

Best regards,

Juan Amores
