Once you have all the necessary fonts and locale files loaded, you just run it like this... $ LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8 jamin & It took me quite a while to find get all the right stuff installed for that to work, however. You can see the problem even in English. The letters with descenders (like 'p', 'q', 'y', etc.) are all truncated below the line.
