Cool. I see you've got to get hold of a hardware SPL level meter to set 
it up properly, but it seems like a step in the right direction.

I've been wondering about this monitor calibration malarkey. Surely if 
you have a known audio interface with a built-in phantom power pre-amp 
(e.g. Focusrite Saffire) and a known condenser microphone, it should be 
possible to set both monitor level and room correcting EQ through 
software something like Jamin? It seems a little crazy to put all that 
extra hardware into the monitor speakers themselves, when the computer 
they are connected to is more than capable of running a little DSP. 
However, I suppose it helps sell new self-calibrating monitors :-)
