Can't compile on Debian Sid

I can't get jamin to compile on my AMD64 Debian Sid system. The problem is that pkg-config complains about missing .pc files in the X development libraries. I'm pretty sure I have the correct dev packages installed, but they don't contain the expected .pc files. Is there an easy way to bypass the need for pkg-config? I can cope with gcc stopping due to missing headers, but I'm unfamiliar with the inner workings of the auto configuration tools and haven't got time to learn - I have a mixed down CD I need to master for a client in a hurry. (BTW I can't use the Debian jamin package because I had to patch JACK to make it work with my hardware). If anyone can suggest a quick workaround I'd appreciate it. John
