I started a simple user interface which I didn't finish yet. (2 years
later...)

Would be cool to be able to use each section of the ui as a standalone or
to turn them off in the layout. Will require some pretty good gtk chops
for that code though.

Backend seems to be working as good as it can but there may still be
optimisations that could be done. Fons Adriensens had some ideas...
