It was also originally built for machines that were a lot less powerful
than we have today.

There are a bunch of additional features that Jamin could have:

1: Simplified UI for preset configurations (partially built)
2: Daemon mode
3: Control UI for Daemon mode
3: Pre/Post compressors aux/send
4: Updated interface using gtk3+clutter for 3d visualisations
5: Modernised UI design for touch interfaces
6: A choice of compressors/limiters
7: LV2 plugin option
