I'm not a full time mastering engineer, but I do some mastering 
for customers who don't have the budget to hire a specialist.
I've never used genre specific settings at the mastering stage
that I'm aware of, and I'm not even sure the idea makes sense.

It's convenient having the ability to recall presets within a specific
project that has multiple songs or tracks with a similar mix, frequency
balance and level, but those would be specific to that project and 
wouldn't necessarily be useful for anything else.
