The existing algorithm uses the FFT data, which makes a poor x-over - I can=
't remember exactly why, I think there might be ringing in the freq domain =
or something?

You could tell by muting two of the three bands and putting whitenoise thro=
ugh it, and looking at the spectrum.

It pieces back together perfectly, but each band of the x-over in isolation=
 is a bit ugly. I don't know how much of an issue it is, to be honest, but =
I seem to remember it was one of the weakest parts sonically.

My knowledge of filters isn't (and wasn't) good enough to design a good x-o=
ver that works at arbitrary sampling frequencies. I had a go with a multipo=
le IIR, but it wasn't as clean sounding as the FFT.
