Reducing preision on intermediate data in minimad during decoding

Hi!

 

I am looking into the possibility of lowering the precision of the
intermediate data in minimad during decoding (i.e. defining MAD_F_FRACBITS
to 16 bits). Does anyone know if this will work, or will the lowered
precision corrupt the decoded data?
