Help me about libMAD

Dear  H&aring;vard,
        I noticed that you 'currently decoding mp3 files using the minimad mp3-decoder and the high-level API.' in the MAD mailing list.
        I just compled the libmad and added minimad.c to the workspace to try to decode mp3 song with high-level API mode.
        But the compiling does not pass because following files unistd.h,sys/stat.h and sys/mman.h which declared in minimad.c don't exsit.
   
        So could you tell me what should I do to make the compiling pass ?
        Also, I want to know how  to use the low-level API ?
