madplay play back error on start and end of file

Hi=2C sorry its my first posting... hoping for some clues..
When I play back i get some noise at the beginning and end of the mp3...
Iim using alsa soundcard on arm-linux. but cant compile madplay --with-als=
a because libasound is not found=2C
where is that?
compiling without that flag all works except the noise at beginning and end=
of playback=2C
im guessing madplay is outputing a non-raw format to a soundcard thats expe=
cting raw?
