Strange enough, on my office PC, updating > lame_enc.dll to 3.99.4 and CDEx 1.70 Beta 4 seems to encode just fine. There are a couple of points here: 1 - I don't use Windows and, so, I wouldn't even know where to start debugging it. There are other members of the project that do, though. 2 - The LAME development team doesn't supply compiled versions of the code for legal reasons. It may be the case of you getting in contact with whomever provided you the DLL in this case.
