Yes, you should fix your repo. I wouldn't worry about people that may
have cloned your repo. Chances are they think your repo is broken
anyway and/or they know to use the cvs repo if they want to do any
kind of development with lame.

As a side note, libarchive just recently migrated to git from svn.
There are a number of things that were done to migrate, such as
rewriting history to change the Author field to use "Full name
<email_address>" instead of just the username, append the cvs revision
at the end of each commit message, seperate out branches that weren't
actually branched from the mainline code, and a whole list of other
things. There were a few times we had to do a force push in order to
get the git migration done right, but in our case, it was preferable
to have proper git repositories. Thus we intentionally force pushed or
outright replaced the repo until it was done properly.

Would they be the gtk1 and debian-as-extra-dist patches? These are the
ones that should at least be applied in the new point release,
especially the gtk1 patch since I can't imagine there are very many
systems left that still contain gtk1.
