FWIW: I prefer SVN over GIT for the same reasons as Robert (but I use
SVN a lot). I would not object to use git instead of CVS, if there are
compelling reasons (a lot of people which work on patches and want to
let mature work locally (I see the value of a DVCS) and then push
patches towards us, but I do not see this happening). My experience
with git is just via some webinterface to have a look at some sources,
and I have to tell I found it hard to do what I wanted to do.

Bye,
Alexander.
