lame inserting 0.047 seconds of silence in the beginning of the mp3 file

when i tried to convert a wav file to mp3, the resulting mp3 has 0.047
seconds of silence in the beginning of the file. this is enough to make the
mp3 unusable for looping.

i'm using ubuntu 11.10:
for f in *.flac;do flac -cd "$f"|lame -h - "${f%.flac}.mp3";done

flac version: 1.2.1
lame version: 3.98.4 64bits
