Hi, I'm just a user of LAME in Digital Performer 5.13. The problem began when I noticed that all my audio files converted to standard MP3 format had distortion in them which was not on the original files. I looked for a newer version of LAME and I found the v3.99.5. I installed it before I noticed that it was specifically made for Intel machines. I've got a G5 PPc running Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard. I've tried uninstalling that version of LAME using the LAME Uninstaller. I've run it several times and it says it's uninstalled all the LAME associated files. However, when I try to install a previous version of the software on my hard drive, such as v3.97, which appears specifically written for PPC Macs running Leopard, I get the following warning: You cannot install LAME Audio Encoder on this volume. A newer version of this software already exists on this volume. So how do I get this thing off my machine so that I can install the proper version of LAME? Please help if you can asap. I really need a properly working MP3 encoder in my Digital Performer DAW. Thanks.
