PSY related

Dear LAME-Developer-Team,

I am a student at Technical University Munich and currently working on a
neuro-inspired audio quality metric. The metric will compare neuronal
patterns generated by the human auditory system by applying different
sounds to an computational inner ear model.
I want to test my metric by encoding sound samples with different qualities
and bit rates first, and then I would like to change some psycho-physical
parameters of the LAME encoder too.

About the PSY-related command line options:

   - Are there somewhere more detailed descriptions what these options do
actually? I didn't find anything...
   - The "x" in the options --interch x or --ns-bass x : what values can I
put there? Just 0 and 1 (off/on) ? Or can I put intermediate values? What
does the number then mean?
   - I work with LAME 3.98.4 64-bit version on Ubuntu Linux: I read
somewhere in the internet about the ATH related options. I would like to
use them but I don't have them in my version...can I unlock those options
somehow? Or is there another (older/newer) version, where I can adjust that
options?

It would be very glad if you could help me with those problem as soon as
possible!
