It's the right place. It's "just" that we don't have a lot of time
available for LAME. I didn't had time to have a look at your patch,
and I assume it's the same for the other LAME developers.

IPv6 support is definitively something what shall be done these days. I
have to admit, that the mp3rtp utility has not the highest priority (at
least not for me).

Your patch is surely appreciated, send to the right place, provides an
useful enhancement, will not be lost where it is, but unfortunately I
can't give any estimate when someone has the time to look at it.
