Hm, VC2008 might be troublesome. We dropped project files for that one
long ago. Under ports/MSVC++/2015 are project files for more current
MSVC toolchains. The 2008clr thing is/was a .NET wrapper. The ports/
stuff is not regularily tested, more meant as a starting point that
worked some time.

That being said, I can ask our Windows guy to provide binaries for the
snapshot (much like http://mpg123.org/download/win64/). They result
from normal ./configure && make (wrapped by windows-builds.sh) inside a
MinGW environment.

Sure, I just would like to know if I got the functionality (mostly)

I guess it is correct to push the current fixes and then have a quick
path to 3.101 (or a different increase in version number, if deprecated
API is dropped?) after that, with needed testing of changes.
