About this old topic (https://sourceforge.net/p/lame/mailman/message/35873204/), I had some spare time for reading this useful guide https://zlib.net/crc_v3.txt and I can now say both algorithms are substantially the same, just one uses byte reflection. With some tricks, the results from one of the two can be converted into the results from the other (and they match!).
