Lame question about Wav File Input

Greetings!

I'm looking for a place in the Lame code base where the size of  PCM
44k Wav might cause the encoder to kick-out.  Is there a way to reset
this in real time or work around the limitation?

I'm feeding Lame with the sound card output, so no file size issue(s).

Is there a way to work around this?
