Great, thanks for updating the links Alexander. Regarding: "The only thing which prevents a release of the new LAME version, is a change to the MacOS build infrastructure regarding the use of libmp123 instead of the internal decoder... which may get removed if nobody provides a fix." What exactly would be removed, and what specifically will not be possible going forward if it is removed? Thanks, Al. -----Original Message----- From: Alexander Leidinger <[email protected]> Sent: 19 August 2020 14:42 To: Al Fransham at Affective Sound <[email protected]> Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Lame-dev] Licence website URL Quoting Al Fransham at Affective Sound via Lame-dev <[email protected]> (from Wed, 12 Aug 2020 15:28:20 +0000): > Hi, > > I am adding the Lame software license to my application for distribution. > > Hence I am creating a LICENSE.txt file and copying all the content > verbatim here: https://lame.sourceforge.io/license.txt > > However there are a couple of things that have occurred to me. > > Firstly I am including the IMPORTANT NOTE although this is not > included in the LICENSE file lame-3.100 download. I will update the mention of www.mp3dev.org where appropriate (not only in the license file) to https://lame.sourceforge.io/. You do not need to mention www.mp3dev.org. Note, the current in-development version of LAME uses libmp123 as the decoder. As it is LGPL, the important note will go away. The only thing which prevents a release of the new LAME version, is a change to the MacOS build infrastructure regarding the use of libmp123 instead of the internal decoder... which may get removed if nobody provides a fix.
