Really? I've seen at least one in C++, but the (official??) decoder
source available on http://www.saunalahti.fi/~cse/mpc/ certainly seems to
be written in C.

I haven't looked at this yet but it's a fixed point decoder I guess? I
wonder how the performance compares?

Thanks I may well need to. My german really isn't up to understanding all
