Apologies: it DID work out of the box, I just mistook the port number, at first.

The search web server was up and running on port 5000. E.g. you can do search queries like this one:

 http://localhost:5000/ws/2/artist/05cbaf37-6dc2-4f71-a0ce-d633447d90c3?inc=aliases+tags+ratings

I will try to add that example to the wiki soon.

All my previous remarks should be ignored because I was trying to go to the same address but at port 8080 instead of 5000 - a mistake.

Thanks,

Hello,

I recently tried the recommended method of setting up a Musicbrainz server - using a virtualbox image.

I was hoping the virtualbox image would work right out of the box, but it did not for me.

After booting into the virtual machine and successfully running the reindex script, I was able to access the musicbrainz server at

    http://localhost:5000

But accessing the search server at

    http://localhost:8080

Produced a "does not exist" error.

Am I doing something wrong or misunderstanding the instructions or have i missed something? How can I access the search server, if not on port 8080?

Any help wold be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
-Doron
