Doubts regarding - GSoC 15 : Add in site messaging in MusicBrainz

Hi all,

After going through the project details
<http://tickets.musicbrainz.org/browse/MBS-1801>, I've following 11 doubts
:

N.B :  Notifications is abbreviated as - notif

0.Are we replacing emails by notif completely?
I mean if Person X has subscribed to "notif option only", he will never get
any emails?

1. What will be the notif structure?
The notif will have the entire email content
OR it will be like - You have got email from XYZ with subject : Code freeze
next week ( and then the end-user will go and check his mailbox )


2.The ticket <http://tickets.musicbrainz.org/browse/MBS-1801> says - People
will have option - Mixture of both? Not sure what this means i.e. how it
would work?

3.My understanding of the work-flow :
    *Person X sends an email to Person Y.
    **1st CASE* - Person Y's setting is : Email. So this works as per
normal flow. Nothing to do.

     **2nd CASE* - Person Y's setting is : Notification. Instead of sending
him an email, send him a notif on the website [ and not his mail box(?) ]

     **Doubt - *If X sends email to A, B, C. And A & C have setting : email
but B has setting : notif. Now what if B wants to reply to all.
( And many such combinations of cases can be developed )

4.Which set of roles/people will this feature affect? Editors only?

5.Can any one tell me a couple of use-cases where this feature will be
useful?
Basically the entire flow from the event that triggers the notif. till the
end-user receiving the same.

Who are the actors involved?

6.Where can I see the source code related to this project?

7.Technology involved : ajax, perl, python, node.js, mongo?
( Even I have no idea, but this

answer on stackoverflow gave some pointers )

8.So we are not building chat/msg application, right? It will be a 1-way
communication sort of thing, right?

9.Major language to be used in the project : Perl or Python?

10.Mentor?
