ID3/Ogg write-back requires you to do a couple of things.

1) Turn on the 'Edit Media' option in content preferences
2) Make sure all your media files are writable by the web server
3) Make sure there is a copy of oggcomment in your lib/adodb/ directory. 
The installer tries to do this for you, but ya never know ;) (You may have 
to download the ogg vorbis tools to get this)
4) Edit the media with the batch editor or the track info and the tracks 
will have their comments/tags matched with the database
