Fatal errors in inc-common.php

Seems that i get periodic, non-repeating errors in inc-common.php wiht 
the latest pre-release of b18.

They read as follows:

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in 
/var/www/html/netjuke/lib/inc-common.php on line 501

This was happening on the previous version (b17) when i first installed 
it, but it seemed to clear up on its own.

The error isn't consistent - refreshing the page usually makes it go 
away, but it's frustrating to deal with.

Any ideas?
