RE: Where are the MP3 stored? (Diego Barros)

MP3's stay un-molested (unless you start messing with
the ID edit features of course) in their original
location, you just make sure you have a symbolic link
to the MP3 directory in ~/netjuke/var/data/ named
"music" when you first install/configure netjuke and
it's associated dependencies. Ideally you'd have all
your MP3 files in a single directory structure with a
simple name like, say, "music" and the link to that
within /var/data/ will allow you to use the admin
tools/scripts of netjuke to discover all the MP3 files
and later on edit the ID content or do other crazy
thinkgs like allow streaming and downloading of your
MP3s.

Outside of using my hacked XboX (Mediaplayer) to play
my MP3s (and digital pictures and divx/mpeg video
files) from my networked Mac to my home AV system/TV,
the Netjuke is the next best thing. Particularily for
remote network access for my friends and family (long
as you have a decent BB connection with at the least
96Kbps upload capacity, 128Kbps is a more realistic
necessity)

All of the other programs had been either too tied to
a single OS or didn't really deliver robustly what I
needed at the time...Most importantly it could handle
my 140 GB's of music and not crash! The fact that it
was all open source is pure gravy...

I knew nothing of PHP and SQL before diving into
Netjuke and I've learned a lot that is very useful for
so much else in the wacky world of software.
