RE: Hellp with IIS and Netjuke

Time to go with what I know, because I just realized that it is not
downloading either. It starts to download and gets to about 17 meg then
just stops and when you try to open the zip file that should be about 80
meg it says compressed folder corrupted.

I might have to fight with him to convince him to go with Unix. Is there
a set of good install instructions for windows and IIS other than what
is included.

Well I have tried all suggestions it still will not stream but will let
you download. We changed the ntfs links to point it to /var/music, we
have tried the c:\Inetpub where it is actually installed.

I am so close to taking this old Pentium 200mhz machine and installing
FreeBSD on it and be done with it :)

Could this be a rights issue where the web user does not have rights to
the directory? Isn't the webuser in IIS is that Inet user guy?

With my Windows/IIS netjuke setup the music directory is the true path
that
windows uses.  If you use the default dirs for IIS, it would like
something
like:


C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/netjuke/var/music/=20


Basically the Music server field is where the music is on the HTTP
server
and the music directory is where it is on the actual computer it's on.
Of
course, with *nix, these can look the same

Yes, I have that piece figured out now, but streaming still does not
work. I am need to know what the music directory path should be.

In unix its like /usr/local/www/data/html/ this is freebsd. What is that
path from windows and IIS.

Hi,

with Win/IIS it is the same as with Linux, the /music direction has to
be within the netjuke tree.
In Win 2000 you can mount a folder/hdd into a different folder. So you
can mount the MP3 hdd/folder directly to (whatever) /netjuke/var/music.
So this is not directly a IIS thing it is more a generell WIN 2000
"feature".

With Win 98 this is NOT possible. XP should work in the same way (WIN
2000 GERMAN: ->Verwaltung ->Computerverwaltung (should be:
->Administration ->Computer ->HDDs or)
