some stubs do exist, and a while back a single frame was transfered with 
hard coded information.

without the ability to generate omg files and an understanding of the 
security behind magicgate, real downloading is not a possibility.

this is the current focus of me and at least 2 other guys (I think) 
which is the real reason for a lack of any other updates.

libnetmd supports everything else that I'm aware of, and anything else 
could be implemented on top of this.
