Marcus Brinkmann did a pretty good job decoding the track split/join=20
USB commands.
It looks like they are "optional" commands, as there are also commands=20=

to test if
they're implemented on a particular unit (and Open MG seems to use=20
these check
commands on startup).  I don't know of any units that actually=20
implement these
commands though ... But I've not tried them on anything newer than an=20
MZ-N1.

I forget the deal with "start recording", I think Marcus figured out=20
that
command, but not the commands to correctly set up the record parameters
first, without which the unit won't actually do anything.
