ISTR not fully grokking it, but I remember thinking that the 03 and 07 that
follow the 80 possibly suggest the /type/ rather than the count or size,
and it was the bytes following that suggest the size, but then that isn't
always the case either.  I dunno.  I guess it's not *terribly* important to
fully understand the semantics of the protocol.

"Struct" maybe rather than array?
