licensing

I need everyone who's ever received an email from me saying something 
along the lines of "applied" or "patch accepted" for a diff that they 
emailed to either me or the mailing list (i believe they've all come 
through the list, but just in case) to get w/ me for a serious 
discussion about licensing.

this cannot be fixed unless all people who've supplied code aggrees on 
the license.

the license issue applies to both the lib and the standalone 
application, though I've alway's viewed the application as a test app 
and could be licensed in one bundle w/ the lib.
