I've been using spamassassin for a long time now, and I haven't yet seen
a single false positive.

What you can do is have the "spam" messages sent somewhere else instead
of outright deleted. That way you can keep track of them, to make sure
that all the messages are actually spam, and if they're not, allow them
to continue to the list.

I'm sure it's possible to set up spamassassin and your mail list manager
software in such a way that all messages tagged as spam will require
your authorization before going to the list. That way, false positives
will still make it to the list, while at the same time you can make sure
that actual spam doesn't make it.
