Here is a taste of upcoming new functions (there's a whole slew of them):

* Request: 00 18 42 ff 0000 201001 tt tt 00 HH MM SS FF
Split track tt tt at time HH MM SS FF.

* Request: 00 18 41 ff 0000 201001 t1 t1 201001 t2 t2
Join tracks t1 t1 and t2 t2.

I got these commands from the NetMDAPI.dll code.  For me, they don't work,
either one gives a 08 error.  I have not yet any knowledge of hardware that
supports it (doesn't mean much, I only have this one model).

You can test your hardware by sending 02 18 ... instead 00 18 ....  If you
receive a 08 reply, it's not supported.  If you receive a 0c reply, it is
supported.  You can see some of this probing in the USB log for an OpenMG
Jukebox startup for other commands.

I will document in the manual which functions should be probed before use.
