only LP2 and LP4 recordings from PC to MD are bit-by-bit identical. 
Recordings in SP are encoded in the player.  The big sin here is that OpenMG
Jukebox first encodes the title into LP2 or LP4, then decodes that and the
player reencodes it into SP.  Of course there is a major quality loss here.

This is not really a question related to this project, though.  However,
when we can do uploads, the first upload that will be possible (and the only
one we can do without patent concerns) will be SP recording without quality
loss.
