   Instruments and controls are accessible with or without using the 
plugin.  The "Instrument Parameters" panel on the left lets you set 
these up.  But first you'll want to do some configuration in the "Manage 
MIDI Devices" dialog: Studio > Manage MIDI Devices.  That will let you 
set up controllers, banks, programs, or load a predefined device file. 
E.g. for Yoshimi there's yoshimi.rgd.
