Another option might be a right-click on the last measure of a segment with an option to either expand the segment (enter the number of measures you want to add), or an option to add a single measure? Just wondering. I usually work in the notation editor, where such an option would be convenient. As it is, switching to the track view and lengthening the track works, although I make a habit of closing the notation editor window before doing that, then reopening the editor after lengthening the track. I don't know if this could re-use the copy-paste functionality that tells Rosegarden to open up space for the pasted notes by moving following notes further down. I think that automatically expands the segment, yes? -- David W.
