Crash when loading RG file form current version into V25.12

I've been given a Rosegarden file for a friend that immediately exits with the
message Volume outside instrument.

The reason I'm using an older version is that I can get it via apt in debian
rather than trying to jump through hoops with qt when trying to compile it
from source.

I would imagine this issue would be a problem for a lot of other people.

Is there any possibility of a work-round?
