SF is already on sourceforge (Re: Suggestion)

John Walker already has set up 2 Sourceforge Projects for Speak-Freely.
You are directed to them from the speak freely home page.
I understand these project as archival sites.

In Respect of John Walkers EOL decision, a new project should be
set up. My suggestion: speak-freely-al (al=after live).

Using such a source forge project structure one could start to register
developers, define tasks, discuss on the new project mailing list etc. 

First step would be: Interested developers, please get a sourceforge
developer account. It should be no question to offer John Walker 
(honorary) developer status in such a project.

Then we could count interested developers and ask what they want
to contribute. Knowing the potential we can decide if and what 
will come next.

If enough of you want it, I would set up a new project and moderate 
this discussion. After this phase I will hand over to a then
decided on project leader or leading commitee as I myself do not
have the time to lead a open source project.

Some decisions have to be made:
o Do we look for a project leader ("benevolent dictator"), or a comitte ?
  Both models have their pro's and con's.
o Continue with Johns Codebase ? if yes, which one (Unix/windows ?)
o If no, better concentrate on documenting the unique features of
  Speak freely by documenting the protocol and trying to get 
  a "speak freely compatibility mode" integrated in other applications ?
  Speak-freely 7.6a then would be the "reference implementation" to test
  against.  
o Finding an answer to the question: Why should interested developers
  contribute to speak freely and not to other telefony programs ?
o On what new features should we concentrate ?  My Nr.1 in
  the wishlist is diffie-hellmann key exchange, i.e. automated
  establishing a crypted connection without much hassle. I would use the
  openssl libraries, they have the functions already implemented.
