Sorry!  It is RH Linux V9.  The fact that you feel that they should be there
tells me they might not have been installed during the original install (I
only installed a limited number of packages for command line operations and
to save space).

I might have located some additional packages on the CD's...stand by.

What is Linux V9?  I've never heard of that.  I've heard of Slackware 9
and Redhat 9.  Any Linux distribution should have a package called ncurses
which has the missing files.  Failing that, you could always compile
ncurses from source, but I refuse to believe that any Linux distribution
would lack this critical package.
