Most likely this is because the ssh tunnelling is just operating on
TCP connections.  Speakfreely uses UDP instead on 2074 and 2075.  2076
for LWL is TCP though.  There is a utility that tunnels udp through
tcp though, and you could use that in conjunction with ssh
tunnelling.  With TCP though, the delays will be kind of long at
times.
