I don't know yet. Could anyone with experiences advice me about how
"expensive" in terms of CPU load, memory, and bandwidth it is to run one,
please?

There is a workaround, however, that could be maybe a tid bit better in
terms of server load - a script with a form that would send a brief sound
sample to specified IP address.

The problem I have with it is not the advertising, but the closeness of
the product being advertised.

With the new patches for firewall traveling (essentially using the same
UDP port for both sending and receiving), the firewall issue could be
greatly diminished as well.


My usage model depends on negotiating the connections manually over
Jabber, but textual IM is my prevailing mode of communication, together
with email.
