Re: discourse forum test

Slow meaning the web interface? Or slow meaning the backend?

As a point of comparison, the lines forum (https://llllllll.co) is in our
ballpark in terms of scale (10k messages - I count ~5k for the last 5 years
of sc-users, so maybe 3x that for our entire history. they have 1k active
users, probably more than us). They sometimes struggle with storage issues,
but the site is snappy.

I discovered it's possible to use github/google/facebook/etc to
authenticate, so people can post without doing the majordomo dance and
without flooding their inbox. Enabled GitHub and Google  - GH works great
(Google doesn't like authing to an ip address).

Incidentally, the sc-dev/sc-users mailing list authorization links sent in
emails are currently non-functional - the only way to confirm is via a
manual reply? I forget who manages the list these days?
