All, This is my first sc-dev post; I've only been here about a month. I have been programming all my life -- I'm not a young man -- including a stint programming audio microcode, 16 channel filters, audio UI, etc. for a living. So feel free to talk freely. :) I'm trying to learn the SC architecure as I get more familiar with the code. I have downloaded the source kit and am trying to understand who talks to whom. I can't find a document or a diagram that describes how the applications of the default environment -- sc-ide, sclang, and scserver -- inter-communicate. When I type a one-liner in sc-ide, how does it make its way to sclang and eventually to scserver to be played? And in what various formats? This basic understanding will help me get myself situated as I continue reading the code. And my apologies ahead of time if I've simply missed pre-existing documentation. Thanks, Jim _______________________________________________ sc-dev mailing list info (subscription, etc.): http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/facilities/ea-studios/research/supercollider/mailinglist.aspx archive: http://www.listarc.bham.ac.uk/marchives/sc-dev/ search: http://www.listarc.bham.ac.uk/lists/sc-dev/search/
