SupercolliderAU

Dear List,

Just wondering if there's any official word on the state of SupercolliderAU
and the AudioUnitBuilder quark? Googling seems to suggest that it hasn't
been properly maintained for some time, but with the odd tantalising
suggestion that someone has got it working.
I've managed to build the au component, and get it to at least claim it has
booted, but plugging it into Reaper doesn't seem to do anything other than
indicate the port, and pinging doesn't do anything. Which all supports the
almost-but-not-quite tone I've been finding in other's posts. So before I
crack my head open on this, does anyone have a definitive answer as to
whether SupercolliderAU and the AudioUnitBuilder are actually workable?
