I think this a good move. Does anybody else have strong feelings
whether to stay with pure gtk or use a wrapper library?

Are you planing to finish this patch?  

I was also experimenting with wxwinddows to see how
difficult it would be create a version of zinf
using a cross platform ui.   This would make it
alot easier for win32/unix to stay aligned.
Unofrtunately, I didn't get very far.   It would
be great if somebody could try to get either
the musicbroswer or the main player to run with
that library.
