I had exactly the same problem the other day. Just installing the libxosd
packages fixed it. For some reason doing a "make install" from the copy of
the source code for libxosd I got didn't though.

I think aclocal is just getting seriously confused when it can't find the
AM_PATH_LIBXOSD macro. I'm assuming that when I did a "make install" the
macro wasn't installed for some reason.

As for the libtoolize errors I always get those and zinf still compiles
fine. The standard errors I always get listed (with no apparent adverse
affects) if anyone is interested are

Adding libtools.
Putting files in AC_CONFIG_AUX_DIR, `config'.
libtoolize: `config.guess' exists: use `--force' to overwrite
libtoolize: `config.sub' exists: use `--force' to overwrite
libtoolize: `ltmain.sh' exists: use `--force' to overwrite
Creating scripts/libchecks.m4
autopoint: File po/Makefile.in.in has been locally modified.
autopoint: File po/boldquot.sed has been locally modified.
autopoint: File po/quot.sed has been locally modified.
autopoint: *** Some files have been locally modified. Not overwriting them
because --force has not been specified.
autopoint: *** Stop.
Building macros.
Building config header.
Building makefiles.
Building configure.

run "./configure ; make"
