In order to run automake, you need *all* optional 
libraries installed(this is so the configure script
can generated to test for optional libraries).

You also need automake > 1.7 and autoconf 2.5.

First decide if the unmarked strings really need to translated.
Internal error message probably shouldn't be as they are intended
for developers.    Menu, help text, and dialog string need to
translated.  If they are unmarked then please add them and
send a patch.
