The headers are there exactly as you specified - gtk-1.2/.  On closer
inspection, I have libgtk.so and its derivatives but no
gtk-anything-dev.  I installed the prebuilt gtk package from slackware
9.1.  Where would find the dev libraries you mention? I would think if
one isn't actively using gtk or xwindows that zinf should be able to
compile without any of these extra libraries IMHO.
